Mike Vogel has been a volunteer firefighter for the Williamsville Fire Department for 25 years and a professional paramedic for over 20 years. During this time, Mike has served in many levels up to and including Captain. Mike has also run and assisted on several training exercises for the department. In addition to training in fire and EMS exercises, Mike has been selected on several occasions to attend the annual Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) to expand his skills.
Mike started his journey in 2011 when he was approached by fellow firefighters Brandon Vizzi and Michael Parker about a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to teach firefighting and EMS as well as spread the Gospel. Thinking this was a great opportunity, Mike signed up not really knowing what to expect. After the first trip, his life was changed forever! Mike was able to share his skills and create new friendships with other firefighters. While teaching and learning, Mike deepened his faith in Jesus Christ.
In addition, Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree from Buffalo State College in Criminal Justice.
Today Michael continues to learn and teach firefighting and EMS. Mike is married to his wife Suzanne for the last 20 years and has a beautiful daughter Diana 14 years. The Vogel’s make their home in Buffalo, NY where they have been for over 40 years.
