Ministry in the Dominican Republic
Our ministry in the Dominican Republic is with all Emergency Services (Police, Fire, EMS). We partner with Dominican Missionaries, to be able to share the Gospel to police officers, firefighters and paramedics, who would otherwise have no exposure to it. The ROAM team already has a working relationship with 16 fire departments and 12 police departments, and continues to not only provide training and resources, but shares the Gospel and cultivates relationships.
The team not only travels to police and fire departments, but also to schools and orphanages, sharing the Gospel of Jesus, and showing the children that Firefighters, Police Officers, and EMTs are your friends and are there to help.
Once the ROAM team leaves, the work does not stop. Brandon and Mike wanted a group that continually invests in people. Felix Fils is the Director of Dominican Outreach withROAM, and works with all of the departments. Felix has a total of 14 ministers working with him, and each minister oversees several departments and their discipleship programs. The team also hosts a Bible study with the companies on a bi-weekly basis, and continues to build a relationship with them and reports back to the ROAM leadership team on the progress.
Each department has had decisions to accept Christ, and departments are now bonding together like never before. Each department was once its own entity, not wanting any help, but since ROAM has started their mission, walls have come down and departments are now working together! The team does not just do a week trip and then return year after year and start fresh, the work continues even when the team is stateside.
