Its hard to believe that Christmas Day is upon us. I want to encourage all of you to remember the true meaning of Christmas; that 2000 years ago, the first Christmas gift came in a manger in Bethlehem. I really wanted snow for a white Christmas today, but here in Buffalo, we’re breaking temperature records, and its currently 50 degrees F outside! I was reminded the other night, the first Christmas was in a desert, and there was no snow and they did just fine!
I was reading some blogs about Christmas on www.desiringgod.org, and it took some time for it to really sink in, but Jesus was always there since before time was even recorded. God is three in one; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus was there since the beginning (John 1:1), and God chose that exact time 2000 years ago to send His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but to SAVE it. Other religions say we need to find God, but Christ came to find US. Christ came to this earth knowing He was going to be crucified by the same people He came to save, yet He fought not with a sword, but with love.
Christmas is just one part of Gods plan of Salvation. When Christ came down, the earth rejoiced because the Savior came! God actually put on flesh, and came down to us to save us, love us, and teach us. Today as you are spending time with family, eating Christmas dinner, or even our brothers and sisters working in Emergency Services, take the time to reflect on the real reason for the season. God loved us so much, that He sent His only Son to die in our place. Today we celebrate His birth, and let all the earth, and Heaven and nature sing!
Merry Christmas from the Brothers Without Borders team, and may God keep you safe and healthy this season. To all of our Brothers and Sisters that are working to keep us safe, (armed forces, police/Fire/EMS, hospital staff), Thank you!
